YSD @ Charity Homes

YSD@charity homes was held from 24th August – 5th October 2019. We believe in giving to the community and that children from all walks of life deserve an opportunity. We visited two orphanages in Selangor which are Pusat Kebajikan Pusat Jagaan Suci Rohani and Rumah Cahaya Amal Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) to conduct hands-on activities. We have also hosted Rumah Amal Raudhatul Jannah and Sekolah Kita III – Cinta Syria Malaysia on 5th October 2019. More than 150 students benefited from our program. We received support from various individuals as well as companies.

YSD: Empowering Scientific Knowledge

Young Scientist Day: Empowering Scientific Knowledge was held on 6th May 2018 at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. This is the first time YSD received overwhelming response from the public with more than 1000 participants aged 4-15 years old mainly from Klang Valley, Selangor and Putrajaya. Due to financial constraint, a minimal registration fee was incurred. More than 45 hands-on activities which cover health eating, biology, chemistry, physics as well as mathematics.

YSD Charity Run: Run For A Good Cause

The Young Scientist Day (YSD) Charity Run was held in UPM on Saturday, 18th November 2017. This exciting race day includes 10km, 5km and 3km runs. Our aim was simple which was to raise as much as possible for Young Scientist Day. It is was fun program that promoted family activity besides facilitating positive changes in improving healthy lifestyle. This charity run reached out to more than 700 participants and inspired people of all ages, to help raise money for a great cause.

Young Scientist Day: Igniting Scientific Interest was held on 23rd April 2016 at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. More than 700 participants mainly from Klang Valley, Selangor and Putrajaya attended this one-day program. More than 40 hands-on activities were designed to aid the teaching and learning process in the classroom.

YSD: Igniting Scientific Interest

Following the success of the previous program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia expanded our Young Scientist Day program with the objective of cultivating the interest in science among rural school students in the district of Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Hilir Perak and Tapah (Sungkai). In 4 months, we have visited 6 rural schools and empowered more than 950 students.

YSD: A Journey inside the Human Body

Department of Human Anatomy organised its inaugural Young Scientist Day (YSD) program on 27th May 2014. We obtained overwhelming response from the public with 350 participants, exceeding the expected amount.Our objective was to promote the Human Anatomy Museum to public as a part of Edutourism programme as well as to instill interest in science subjects in primary and secondary school students. The activities were designed to demonstrate and incorporate scientific principle that the students have learned in school in a fun and engaging platform.
